Albert Selby Graham, 86, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born June 13, 1939, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of Selby Abbot and Ora Belle (Vernon) Graham. He departed this life Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded with love and family.

Al grew up in Eldon graduating from Eldon High School in 1957. While in high school he excelled in all sports. He furthered his education at the Missouri State University in Springfield later earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri Kanas City. While at UMKC he served as both coach and player on the university’s first golf team. Al was a United States Navy Veteran.

On August 5, 1961, he was united in marriage to Patsy Moritz in Eldon and to this union two children, Sheri and Daren were born; they later divorced. On June 13, 1992, he was united in marriage to Jaylene (Hayes) Hocker in Pleasant Hill bringing three sons Brad, Matt, and Clay into their family.

Al was first employed as a pharmaceutical salesman for Wyeth Laboratories. He was an avid golf enthusiast and following retirement went to work in the Pro Shop at the Country Creek Golf Course for over 27 years until failing health forced him to step down in November 2023. He also enjoyed working with model trains, watching all sports, was active as a coach when his kids were young, and above all loved watching his grandkids play in each of their respective sports. He was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Burris and Jean Harbison.

He is survived by his wife, Jaylene of Pleasant Hill; two children, Sheri (and Ken) Edler of Raymore and Daren (and Amanda) Graham of Pleasant Hill; three stepsons, Brad Hocker and Clay (and Deenia) Hocker of Pleasant Hill, and Matt Hocker of Raymore; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 5, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor James Stanfield-Myers officiated. Graveside military services and interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Navy and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Zack Wheeler, Zane Wheeler, Logan Baker, Drew Hocker, Jackson Hocker, Hayden Hocker, Brody Hocker, and Tyler Hocker. Honorary casket bearers were Emily Baker, Tabitha Graham, Abby Graham, Belle Danner, Hanah Hocker, Madilyn Hocker, and Kailey Hocker.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Big Creek Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
