Alice Hammontree

Mrs. Alice  Hester Hammontree of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born April 24, 1920 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the daughter of William L. and Mildred Edna (Austin) Schmoll.  She departed this life Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Camden Health Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 26 days.

On November 14, 1941, Alice was united in marriage to Morris Allen Hammontree in Vancouver, Washington.

Alice was employed as a trust officer at a bank for several years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.  Alice moved back to Pleasant Hill in the 1950's.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Hammontree on July 27, 1997 and a sister, Ruth DeLozier.

She is survived by a son, Jim Hammontree and wife Linda, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two grandchildren, Wheeler and Josie and a great-granddaughter, Laurelin; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Troop 300 Scout Trust Fund.
