Alma O. Foote

Alma Oretta Foote, 89, of Harrisonville, was born August 10, 1936, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Lonie A. and Edna P. (Small) James. She departed this life Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit.

Alma was a 1954 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

On March 29, 1970, she was united in marriage to Homer L. Foote, Jr. in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2023.

Alma was a bank manager for Allen Bank, the Archie State Bank, and Commerce Bank all in Harrisonville. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, and former member of the Cass County Business and Professional Women's Association. She was also active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ivy Leaf Chapter #215 in Pleasant Hill, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1987, 2004, and 2016, and served as District Deputy Grand Matron in 2011 and 2012. She enjoyed sewing and oil painting. She was also a fantastic cook and loved canning vegetables. Above all she loved time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Alma was also preceded in death by her per parents; four brothers, Hobert Milican, Lonnie James, Johnnie James, and Ronnie James; four sisters, Vera Milican, Della Croy, Alberta Benware, and Nyla Parris; and two stepsons, Homer L. Foote III, and Jeffrey Foote.

She is survived by two children, Dustin (and Laurel) Foote of Pleasant Hill and Devra (and Ray) Jordan of Harrisonville; four grandchildren, Beckilee (and Logan) Huitt and Sarah (and Austin) Huitt both of Pleasant Hill, Jess (and Tim) Vogel of Peculiar, and Cale (and Kennedy) Francis of Alba; seven great grandchildren, Gaige, Paislee, Caroline, Berklee, Hunter, Lane, and Kamryn; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Eastern Star services were held Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026, at the funeral home.  

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Conway officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Cale Francis, Austin Huitt, Gaige Huitt, Logan Huitt, Travis Parris, and Tim Vogel. Honorary casket bearers were Lorraine Cook, Tommy Cook, Larry Duncan, and Mary Wilmoth.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ivy Leaf Chapter #215 and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
