Alma Irene Liley, 85 of Independence, Missouri, passed away, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Truman Lakewood Nursing Home.Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, Independence, Missouri. Burial was in Mt. Washington Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Research or to Kansas City Hospice.

Alma was born October 27, 1927 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Cliff and Floreine (Whilhite) Pool. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed shopping, cleaning, collecting crystal, bowling and most of all spending time with her family. She had also worked as the manager of Red Barn Restaurant in Independence. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence.

She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Foreman and her husband Rick of Lee's Summit; 3 sons, Donald McGhee and his wife Deborah of Blue Springs, Michael McGhee and his wife Valeta of Odessa and Matthew Liley and his wife Lynne of Pleasant Hill; one brother, Cliff Pool and his wife Judy of Deltona, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her husband Arthur E. Liley in 1991 and her parents and step father Glen Pool.
