Ann Porter

Frances Ann Porter, 66, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, July 18, 1947, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur Crayton and Louise Nadean (Warren) Beghtol. She departed this life, Thursday, November 28, 2013, at the Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Ann was a 1965 Lee's Summit High School graduate.

On November 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to Bary Len Porter in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ann was a homemaker. She was a former president of the Missouri State Quilters Guild, a member of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association board, and the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. As her grandson grew she volunteered in several capacities in the Pleasant Hill Schools. She enjoyed attending the Missouri State Fair each year and visiting family in the mountains of Colorado. She was an avid quilter and loved spending time at their home at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Ann was preceded in death by her father Wilbur on January 23, 2012 and one son Harry Douglas Porter on May 28, 1996.

She is survived by her mother Louise Beghtol of Pleasant Hill; her husband Bary of the home; one son Bary Dwayne (and Bob Jackson) of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Austin MacGyver Porter and McKayla Massey, both of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and a host of many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Reverend Carl Knapp of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dwayne Porter, Bob Jackson, Danny Porter, Austin Porter, Matt Liley, Charlie Evans, Travis Ross and Steve Long.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Meals on Wheels or Lay-Clergy Council and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
