Anna Huston (Roll) Brundage, 81, of Pleasant Hill, was born May 29, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Hugh Wilson Roll Sr. and Nelda Maureen (Huston) Roll. She departed this life Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit surrounded by family.
She graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1962 and earned her X-ray Technician Certification in 1964 from St. Lukes School of Medicine.
On August 4, 1963, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Brundage at the Community Christian Church on the Country Club Plaza. To this union, two sons, Larry and Don were born.
Anna and Bill moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 1968 where they made their home and raised their two sons. They moved to John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit in April of this year. When her boys were young, she was a familiar site at school as she often served in the role of “Room Mother” and never missed a ball game of one of her boys.
Immediately after receiving her certification, she began her many years of service as an x-ray technician by joining the office of Dr. Hallwig in Kansas City. Later in her career she established herself at Lee’s Summit Medical Clinic. She also served as a volunteer for the Pleasant Hill Ambulance service, being on call for those in need in her community.
She was a long-time member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where she and Bill led the youth group for many years. She was a founding member and very active for many years with the Lay Clergy. She was also a member of Job’s daughters. She and Bill were members of the Thunderbirds Square Dance Club and bowled in multiple bowling leagues; she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, baking, and cooking.
Above all, time spent with family was most important. She had several names and titles in her life, but the ones that filled her heart were Babe, Mom, and Granna. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Nelda Roll; and two brothers, Hugh Wilson Roll Jr. and James Robert Roll.
She is survived by her husband of more than 63 years, Bill Brundage of Lee’s Summit; two sons, Larry (and Jenny) Brundage and Don (and Kathy) Brundage all of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren, Greg (and Ragan) Brundage of Blue Springs, and Robin Brundage (and fiancé Trace Young) of McKinney, Texas; one brother, Richard (and Lee) Roll of Tarpon Springs, Florida; many brothers and sisters-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Visitation and a celebration of her life was held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Pastor James Stanfield-Myers officiated.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
