ANNA M. CLARK
Anna Marie Clark, 97, of Pleasant Hill, was born, February 23, 1924, in Kansas City, the daughter of Lewis and Florence (Gatlin) Clark. She departed this life, Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center, Lee’s Summit.
She spent the early years of her life in the Kansas City and Merriam area. She later attended Pepperdine University in California. She was a United States Navy Waves Korean War veteran.
Anna worked for the United States Postal Service. Later in her career she was the Office Manager for the Cass County Historical Society. She was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, reading (she read her bible daily), sewing, long walks through town, playing games with friends (she didn’t like to lose), and playing golf. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. She was a joy to be around.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John Clark, Lawrence Clark, Kenneth Clark, Wilbur Clark, Grace Overstreet, and Delia Washington; and one nephew Jerry Clark.
She is survived by her four nephews Terry Clark of Grandview, Ed Clark of Pensacola, Florida, Alan (and Bambi) Clark of Houston, Texas, and Tom Clark of Pleasant Hill; one niece Linda Bennett of San Diego, California; other relatives and her good friend Jalynn Bruno.
Graveside service and interment was held Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Her great nephew Reverend Steven Clark officiated.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
