BARBARA L. MELTON

Barbara Louise Melton, 70, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, June 8, 1949, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, the daughter of Rum and Madaline (Payne) Truitt.  She departed this life, Friday, December 20, 2019, at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City, surrounded with love and family.

Barbara was a 1967 graduate of the Will Rogers High in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On November 18, 1995, she was united in marriage to Steven Randall Melton in Pleasant Hill; he preceded her in death on April 28, 2015.

Barbara was a homemaker.  She enjoyed collecting a variety of different things (especially roosters), shopping, gardening, and caring for all animals. Most important to her were her family; especially her grandchildren.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, James Dailey, and Robert Lamprecth; and one grandson, Cody Hicks.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Vinson of Blue Springs, and Lisa (and David) Hicks of Pratville, Alabama; 5 grandchildren, Sarah (and Nick) Flaigle of Independence, Misti Dawson of Blue Springs, William Blake (and Ashley) Hensley of Kansas City, and Amber Hicks and Christopher Hicks both of Pratville, Alabama; 8 great grandchildren, Brylee, Harmynee, Makynlee, Qyncee, Emery Louise, Cainan, Mason, and Haley; two sisters, Irene Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and  Judy Donaho of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2019, at the funeral home.  Reverend D. Kent Deubner will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
