Betty Swadley

Betty Ann Swadley, 78, of Pleasant Hill, was born Monday, October 19, 1934, in Leeton, Missouri, the daughter of John and Julie Jane (Hildebrand) Fleener. She departed this life at 12:17 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded with love and family.

In 1951, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee Swadley in Eureka springs, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking, crocheting and gardening. She was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Wilma Sims.

Betty is survived by her husband Kenny of the home; two sons Mike (and Debbie) Swadley of Creighton, and Rick Swadley of Greenwood; two brothers Johnny Fleener of Neosho, and Clyde (and Joanna) Fleener o f Warrensburg; two sisters, Margie Fleener of Warrensburg, and Patty Bond of Oak Grove; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 14, 2013, at the funeral home.

Reverend Todd MacLean of the Big Creek Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held prior to the service at the funeral home.
