William “Bill” Joseph Heintzelman, 80, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born December 25, 1942, in Brookfield, Missouri, the son of Leo Vincent and Betty Ann (Eastin) Heintzelman. He departed this life Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home surrounded with love and family.
Bill was a 1960 graduate of Immaculata High School in Leavenworth, Kansas. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City.
On September 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Linda Sue Luff in Leavenworth. To this union; three sons; Mark, Jeffrey, and Timothy were born.
Bill was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for KD Manitou in Waco, Texas. He was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill and was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus Sons of Mercy Council #13113. He enjoyed woodworking, working in his yard, detailing his vehicles, and traveling to see his family.
Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Vincent Heintzelman and his sister, Sue Ann Heider.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Pleasant Hill; three sons and their wives, Mark and Yvonne Heintzelman of Peculiar, Missouri; Jeffrey and SoAe of Collingswood, New Jersey, and Timothy and Shari Heintzelman of New Braunfels, Texas; seven grandchildren, Travis (and Natalie) Heintzelman, Justin Heintzelman, Brianne Heintzelman, Joshua (and Carolina) Heintzelman, Cecelia Heintzelman, Brittany (and Stephen) Sandoval, and Ashleigh Heintzelman; four great grandchildren, Alice, Kaisley, Wyatt, and Delainey; his mother, Betty Heintzelman of Harrisonville, Missouri; one brother, Clinton (and Elsie) Heintzelman of Monument, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
Recitation of the Rosary, a visitation, and Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Reverend Curt Vogel officiated. Casket bearers were Mark Heintzelman, Jeffrey Heintzelman, Timothy Heintzelman, Clinton Heintzelman, Travis Heintzelman, Justin Heintzelman and Stephen Sandoval. Honorary casket bearers were Joshua Heintzelman, Carolina Heintzelman, Cecelia Heintzelman, Brittany Sandoval, Ashleigh Heintzelman, Brianne Heintzelman and Natalie Heintzelman.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Bridget Catholic Church or the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
