Billie Holle

Mrs. Billie Louise Holle, 96, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Clinton, Iowa, was born September 14, 1918, in Lone Jack, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Glenn and Nellie Elmore (Phillips) Burns. She departed this life Thursday, December 3, 2014, at her home in Kansas City surrounded with love and family.

She was a 1932 Westport High School Graduate. On April 29, 1938, she was united in marriage to Donald W. Holle in Clinton, Iowa. They made their home in Clinton for several years. In 1960 they moved to Kansas City.

Billie was a homemaker, quilter, gardener, and bird watcher. She was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill where she was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She also enjoyed quilting for many years with the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church Quilters Club.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, and one daughter Julia Jeanette Holle.

She is survived by five children, Thomas (and Jeanie) Holle, Kathleen Morrison, and Cheryl Holle, all of Kansas City, Richard (and Dixie) Holle of Lakeville, Indiana, and Mary Nell Ayala of Laguna Hills, California; one sister Kerry Eklund and her son Robin Walters of Pleasant Hill; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Diana Dahl and Crossroads Hospice for the care and compassion shown to their mother.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church. Monsignor Robert Murphy, Monsignor Bradley Offutt, and Father Justin Hoye officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Chris Canzoneri, Kevin DeFord, Nathaniel DeFord, Aaron Holle, Christopher Holle, Ethan Holle, Travis Mansfield, and Daryl Maxey.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Meals on Wheels and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
