Robert L. “Bob” Davis, 85, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.


He was born February 3, 1931, in David City, NE, a son of the late Charles E. and Hazel O. (Smith) Davis. On February 4, 1956, in David City, he was united in marriage to Ramona K. Fricke, who survives of the home.


He was raised and educated in David City. He was a graduate of David City High School and University of Nebraska. He served his country honorably in the US Army 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was an account and controller with AT&T his entire professional career.


Bob was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a longtime member of Lions International, serving as Past District Governor and received many awards and recognitions. He was currently a member of the Sedalia State Fair Lions Club. He served on the Board of Meals on Wheels while living in Pleasant Hill.


Bob had an easy going, gentle spirit, spoke with kindness and always put his family first, as well as serving the communities in which he lived. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, puzzles, playing cards and watching Cornhuskers football.


In addition to his wife, Ramona, he is survived by five children Martin W. Davis (Karen), of Oak Ridge, TN, Randal J. Davis (Micki), of Derby, KS, Mary K. Trivett (Warren), of Sedalia, Jennifer O. Flatland (Mitch), of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jeffrey A. Davis (Melissa), of Springfield, MO; grandchildren Jesse Davis, Nathaniel Owen (Sharon), Benjamin Owen (Liz), Rebecca Walker, Abigail Pickett (Nathon), Brandon Davis, Matthew Davis, Alyse Hunt, Cameron Davis, Jonathan Davis and Landon Davis; and four great-grandchildren Calico, Trig, Ryder and Christopher.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia J. Wolfe.


Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Patrick Church with Father Mark Miller officiating. Military honors immediately followed services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
