Boyd S. Cantwell

Boyd Stephen Cantwell, 58, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born September 16, 1967, in Independence the son of Norman Boyd and Beula Fae (Wakeman) Cantwell. He departed this life Thursday, September 18, 2025, at his home.

Boyd was a 1986 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School.

Boyd was a gifted automobile mechanic. He started his career at Gregg’s Automotive on Noland Road in Independence. Later he owned and operated Performance Detail & Automotive in Pleasant Hill until declining health led him into retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years he enjoyed drawing and painting and sold many of his paintings. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

Boyd was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Gerald Lynn Cantwell; one nephew, Jared Bryant.

He is survived by his daughter, Haley Cantwell of Lee’s Summit; his mother Fae Cantwell of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Cheryl Mullen of Pleasant Hill; nephew, Solomon Cantwell; niece, Amber (Mullen) Snow; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service was held Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Forest Grove Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, MO .
