Bruce Michael Spartz, 54, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, Monday, November 24, 1958, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Gregory Louis and Wilma Ann (Thyer) Spartz. He departed this life, in the early hours of Friday, August 16, 2013, at his home.
Bruce grew up in Blue Springs, and was a 1977 Blue Springs High School Graduate.
On August 10, 1990, he was united in marriage to Christy Louise Rapp in Harrison, Arkansas.
Bruce was a general contractor. He owned and operated Spartz Construction. He was a gifted and skilled craftsman who specialized in construction and remodeling and was well known for his ability and talent to fix "anything and everything".
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, hiking, and traveling with his wife. His passion was assisting the Pleasant Hill Hillside Singers show choir. He helped design and manufacture many of the sets for the choir long after his own children graduated.
He is survived by his parents, Gregory and Wilma of Blue Springs; his wife, Christy of Pleasant Hill; three children, Angela Darby of Pleasant Hill, James (and Julie) Kinney of Pleasant Hill, and Casey Spartz (and fiancAC. Lauren Acord) of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Bailey Hein and Emma Kinney; two brothers Mark (and Debbie) Spartz of Blue Springs, and Kevin (and Tammy) Spartz of Grain Valley; one sister, Sharon (and Riley) Comstock of Independence; other relatives; and many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Hillside Singers and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
