Mr. Carol Dean "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, 70, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Warsaw, Missouri, was born Wednesday, August 6, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Everett Arley and Vera Louise (Waynick) Fitzpatrick. He departed this life at 12:25 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Benchmark Healthcare Center of Harrisonville.

Fitz attended school in Malden, Missouri, before proudly serving his country in United States Marine Corps.

On August 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Frances White in Malden.

Fitz was employed as a Pipe Fitter and Welder for the Olin Winchester Corp. at Lake City for over 30 years retiring in December 1996. He attended the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw and was a Master Mason.

He never had an "off" season as he loved hunting, fishing, bowling, trap shooting, and especially playing golf.

His sense of humor and love of life will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Arley Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Marilyn of Pleasant Hill; two sons Kelly D. Fitzpatrick and wife Lisa of Lee's Summit, and Brian K. Fitzpatrick of Pleasant Hill; three brothers John Fitzpatrick of Warsaw, Paul Fitzpatrick and his wife Judy of Dexter, Missouri, and Jeff Fitzpatrick of St. Charles, Missouri; one sister Connie Jaspering of Washington, Iowa; two grandchildren Zachary and Taylor; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services were held Friday, July 27, 2012, at the funeral home. Reverend's Barry Edwards and Bill Hix officiated. Graveside military services and inurnment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The military services were erformed by the Pleasant Hill VFW Post #3118 Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps honor guard.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Care of the Mid-West and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
