Carole L. Flynn

Carole Lynette Flynn, 63, of Pleasant Hill, was born May 4, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Melvin and Gloria (James) Gossage.  She departed this life Monday, April 3, 2023, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Carole was a 1978 Ruskin High School graduate.

On June 22, 1985, she was united in marriage to Robert E. “Bob” Flynn in Kansas City.

Carole spent her entire career working for Hallmark retiring on July 2, 2018. She was an active member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where she served in several capacities including the annual harvest dinner and the M&M group.  She also delivered meals for the Meals on Wheels program in Pleasant Hill. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, listening to music (especially rock music) and was a gifted writer.  She especially enjoyed cheering on the Chiefs and her grandsons.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Gossage.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Pleasant Hill; two children, Brian E. (and Melissa) Flynn of Palmdale, California, and Michelle (and Darren) Bearce of Adrian; four grandchildren, Lucas Jass, Shane Brownfield, Alexander Straasburg, and Allen Bearce; three brothers, Russell Gossage of Harrisonville, Randy (and Katherina) Gossage of North Kansas City, and Rick Gossage of Grandview; one sister, Terry (and Lee) Golding of Stover; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Monday evening, April 10, 2023, at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  Pastor James Stanfield-Meyers officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Darren Bearce, Shane Brownfield, Brian Flynn, Lucas Jass, Jackson Young, and Logan Young.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
