Caroline Hatton

June 26, 1953 — March 4, 2017

Caroline Hatton, 63, of Pleasant Hill, was born, June 26, 1953, in Marshall, Missouri, the daughter of Russell and Leota (Bonner) Hibbard, Jr.  She departed this life, Saturday, March 4, 2017, at her home.

Caroline was a 1971 Slater High School graduate later attending the State Fair College in Sedalia.

On August 31, 1996, she was united in marriage to Duane Hatton in San Antonio, Texas.

Caroline was a homemaker.  She also worked out of her home as a Realtor, as a Grant Writer for kids seeking scholarships, and managed the Par Excellence beauty salon.  She loved gardening and flowers, reading, and her animals, especially her dogs.  She is a member of the Church of the Resurrection Methodist church in Leawood.  She loved her family and was especially fond of her grandmother, Alta Patton whose influence on her at a young age formed the women she would become.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sisters, Marilyn Kay & Vicky Lynn.

She is survived by her husband Duane of Pleasant Hill; two sons Richie Gibbons, Jr. and Rossi Gibbons, both of Lee’s Summit; two sisters, Theresa (and Bill) Ellsworth of Blue Springs, and Brenda (and Chuck) Yarbrough of Belle Vista, Arkansas; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.  Private family services were held.
