Daniel Efrain Suarez, 49, of Independence, Missouri, was born, November 15, 1967, in Havana, Cuba, the son of Gervasio and Ada (Portieles) Suarez. He departed this life, Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded with love and family.

Daniel was a 1985 graduate of Forest Lake Academy in Orlando, Florida.  He earned his Respiratory Therapists degree from the Kettering College in Ohio, his Bachelor’s degree in Theology from UNADECA in Costa Rica, and his Masters of Divinity from Andrews University in Michigan.

On February 8, 1998, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Esther Beber in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Daniel was first employed as a Respiratory Therapist in Florida.  He later became a Seventh Day Adventist minister. In Missouri, he pastored at the Mid-River and the St. Louis Hispanic Churches. He has then pastored at the Sanger Bilingual and Hanford Bilingual churches in California where he also served as a conference official for the Stewardship and  Gift-Planning department for the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Most recently, he was the current pastor of both the Lee’s Summit and Kingsville churches. He loved riding motorcycles, playing basketball, hiking, working on cars, and spending time with family.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Gervasio and Ada Suarez of Sebring, Florida; his wife Marilyn of Independence; five children, Daniel Suarez, Adrian Suarez, Yonathan Suarez, Daslyn Suarez, and Kevin Suarez, all of the home; one brother, Joel (and Grace) Suarez of Avon Park, Florida; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A Celebration of Daniel’s Life was held Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the Lee’s Summit Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Pastor Elden Ramirez officiated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Suarez Family Fund and may be sent in care of the F&C Bank, 102 N. Bynum Rd., Lone Jack, Missouri 64070 or in care of the funeral home.
