It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daralene Carter, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Daralene, age 81, of Lone Jack, Missouri, was born on February 23, 1943, in Marshall, Missouri, the daughter of George W. and Willie V. (Rogers) Gibson. She passed away peacefully at her home on February 12, 2025, with her family at her side.

Daralene was a 1961 Marshall High School graduate. 1n 1991, she earned her bachelor's degree from the Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg.

She was united in marriage to Karl Carter on July 23,1961, in Marshall. Together they shared 64 years of marriage.

Daralene was first employed as a secretary for Western Electric in Lee’s Summit. Later she and Karl owned and operated Carter Realty based in Lone Jack and she spent many years working beside Karl building homes in area. She was an avid quilter, sewer, reader, and played the piano; she also enjoyed mowing and manicuring her yard. Above all she was proud of her family and cherished the time spent with all of them.

Daralene was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandson Dayton House.

She is survived by her husband Karl Carter; two sons, Kevin (and Ottavia) Carter and Keith(and Dana) Carter; four grandchildren, Kyle (and Sarah) Carter, Klay Carter, Tony (and Tosha) Ott, and Brandy (and Ryan) Goodridge; three great grandchildren Leah Carter, Gunnar Goodridge, and Dylan Puckett; two great-great grandchildren, Carter Puckett and Aurora Puckett; one sister, Glenna Lusby; other relatives and a host of many friends.

Per her wish cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lone Jack Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
