Darlene R. Kinney

Pleasant Hill, Missouri

Darlene Rae Kinney, 91, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born February 3, 1933, in Oxford, Nebraska, the daughter of Raymond H. “Harvey” and Peggy (Harvel) Huffman.  She departed this life Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at her home.

Darlene was a 1948 Oxford High School graduate.

On July 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Cecil Vernon Kinney in Grand Island, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2004.

Darlene was employed as a secretary at the St. Catherine's Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.  She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church and also enjoyed attending the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with her daughter.  She enjoyed crafting, fishing, and caring for her pets.  She will be long remembered for her hard work and caring for her family.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cecil.

She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Kinney of Overland Park, Kansas, Robbien (and David) Adamczyk of Pleasant Hill, and Kevin (and Tamara) Kinney of Wickenburg, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Kinney, Mike (and Robin) Kinney, Kristan (and Brad) Holdhusan, Joshua (and Dawn) Adamczyk, David (and Lindsey) Adamczyk, Andrew Kinney, and Chad Kinney; sixteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Per her wishes cremation has been accorded.  No services are scheduled at this time.
