Dawn Akemi Stout, 56, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, was born February 27, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Robert and Arlene Masuda. She departed this life Thursday, August 28, 2025, at her home in Lee’s Summit with family by her side.
Dawn attended Kaimuki High School in Honolulu, later earning a degree as a Nail Technician and Manicurist.
On May 19, 2002, she was united in marriage to James Ray Stout in Lee’s Summit.
Dawn owned and operated her own nail salon, Designs by Dawn. She put her career on hold to devote her time to raising her children. Dawn became an employee of Walmart and worked in Lee’s Summit for 8 years where she made many friendships. She enjoyed crafting and making bead necklaces and bracelets. Above all she loved time spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband, James; four children, Casey Iha, Jordan Julian, Connor Stout, and Shannon Stout; her mother, Arlene Masuda; one sister, Michelle Sarae; and one half-sister, Tammy Yagi-Barrett. She was preceded in death by her father.
Cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled at this time.
