North Kansas City

Dawn Lisa Wasson, 60, of North Kansas City, Missouri, was born October 30, 1962, in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Dr. Robert A. and Shirley H. (Sawyer) Williams.  She departed this life Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the North Kansas City Hospital.

Her father was in the military. The family lived all over the country and the Philippines when Dawn was  a young girl. She was a 1980 graduate of Norcross High School in Norcross, Georgia and studied Marine Biology and Veterinary medicine in college  She later settled in Atlanta, Georgia where she met her husband Lann Wasson; they were married for 27 years and later divorced.

She was a gifted artist. She knitted and crocheted beautiful blankets, pillows, hats, scarves, mittens, and pet clothes.  She made stunning beaded jewelry sets of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. She owned her own business selling all these items.  She always loved animals and had many rescue animals on her farm for years. An avid gamer and reader . A wonderful musician playing the flute, clarinet, guitar, and loved to sing. She was a member of the Vineyard Church.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Langston and Dr. Robert A Williams.

She is survived by her stepmother, Kristin Williams of Rome, Georgia; one brother, Doug (and Sara) Williams of Bellingham, Washington; one sister, Andrea “Ondie” Daniel (and Win Smalley) and her three adult children,Taylor,Foster and Harrison of Johns Creek, Georgia; two half-sisters, Robin Mulkins of Marietta, Georgia, and Renee McCullah and her 2 daughters, Michaela and Tori McCullah of  Greer, South Carolina; other relatives and friends including her sweet, kind friend Leasa Young of Kansas City, Missouri.

Cremation has been accorded. Private family service and inurnment will be in Georgia at a later date.
