Donna Lea Callaghan, 68, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born October 3, 1957, in Kansas City, the daughter of Robert Kenneth and Betty Jane (Samuel) Callaghan. She departed this life Monday, May 18, 2026, at Addington Place in Lee’s Summit.
Donna was a 1975 Ruskin High School graduate. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and her Bachelor of Art and Education from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
She was first employed in mid-management for Sprint. Later she taught 7th grade math at the Smith-Hale School in Hickman Mills. She loved playing board games and cards with family, playing music, and was an avid reader.
Donna was an active member of the Grace Family Fellowship in Pleasant Hill. She was a prayer warrior who earnestly studied the bible from cover-to-cover both by herself and through the church bible study. She was giving, kind, compassionate and generous and would help anyone in need at any time. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three sisters, Sharon (and Jim) Williams of Lee’s Summit, Linda (and Fred) Shippee, of Overland Park, and Janice Callaghan of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
Per Donna request cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Family Fellowship and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
