Donna Ruth Crawford, 83, lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, was born November 2, 1942, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Wilmer C. and A. Ruth (Hayes) Hamilton (her father was killed in action during WWII near Epinal, France in October 1944 when she was just two years old). She departed this life, Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Donna was a 1960 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
Donna was first employed at Hallmark where she met Robert Lee Crawford while carpooling. On June 17, 1961, they were united in marriage at the old Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and to this union two children Robert and Melissa were born. They enjoyed over 64 years of marriage.
Donna was employed as a secretary for the Pleasant Hill R-III school district for over 27 years where she served first in the high school and for the last seven as Secretary to the Superintendent. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Life Member of the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118, and a former member of the Pleasant Hill Art League. She enjoyed shopping and travelling, especially annual trips to Branson. She also loved to paint and was quite accomplished in tole painting and acrylics. Above all she loved time spent with family.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Garnett Kingsolver; and daughter-in-law, Kristine Crawford.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Crawford of Pleasant Hill; two children, Robert "Bobby" (and Danielle) Crawford of Lee's Summit and Melissa "Missy" (and Ron) Prorok of Marshall, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (and Lexi) Crawford, Amanda (and Danny) Oliver, Alex (and Frankie) Prorok, Sydney (and Austin) Fish, Sam Prorok, Nico Mundo, and Nina (and Braden) Smith; three great grandchildren, Roman Fish, Stormi Smith, and Sophia Smith; half-siblings, Chuck (and Alice) Kingsolver and Karen (and Steve) Yoder, all of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, December 29, 2025, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor James Stanfield-Myers officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jonathan Crawford, Austin Fish, Danny Oliver, Alex Prorok, Sam Prorok, and Ron Prorok.
