Edna Marie Becker Eakins, 90, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Friday, October 21, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Richards) Taylor. She departed this life at 5:51 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012, in Overland Park.

On June 2, 1973, Edna was united in marriage to William Joseph "Bill" Eakins at the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2010.

Edna was employed as an inspector for Western Electric. She was a charter member and past president of the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118, Pleasant Hill, and past president of District #6 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother Charles Taylor; and two sisters Alice Kester and Virginia Kruger.

She is survived by three sons, Jim Becker and his wife Veronica of Waddell, Arizona, Bob Becker and his wife Dora May of Harrisonville, and Chuck Becker of Austin, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her caregivers for the last several years, Connie Jones and Rhonda Peoples; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2012, at the funeral home. Reverend Carl Knapp of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee's Summit. Casket bearers were Bob Becker, Chuck Becker, Dustin Becker, Selden Hembree, Ashe Jones, and Howard Raffurty.

Visitation was held prior t the service at the funeral home.
