Pleasant Hill, Missouri

Elizabeth Maureen Rosanbalm, 72, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born May 11, 1951, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of John Lawrence and Dorothy Louise (Carlile) Rosanbalm. She was the third child of six children. She passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Belton Regional Medical Center. Her death was due to complications from pneumonia. Elizabeth was most recently a resident at Carnegie Rehabilitation in Belton, Missouri.

Elizabeth was a 1969 Pleasant Hill High School graduate. Elizabeth attended CMSU in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Elizabeth became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1973. She worked for 25 years at many hospitals in Kansas City (Lakeside, Jackson County, Research Medical Center, St. Joseph) and for several area nursing homes (John Knox, Pleasant Hill, and Harrisonville). Her last 12 years of work was for the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City as a Tax Examiner. She retired from the IRS in 2012. 

Elizabeth was a devoted member of the Community of Christ Church in Pleasant Hill where she served as a Priest. She was forgiving, grateful, kind, and a faithful prayer warrior for others. Elizabeth loved everyone and her Savior, Jesus Christ. 

Elizabeth was a member of the Pleasant Hill Lions Club and Senior Citizens. 

She lived nearly all of her life on the family farm in Pleasant Hill. She played the piano and baritone horn as a child and talently crocheted many beautiful things. She also enjoyed camping and other activities with her church youth groups.

Elizabeth loved to travel, especially to see family. She visited many places including Germany, France, Florida, South Dakota, North Carolina, and California. She enjoyed recounting her experiences to others. 

Elizabeth was a lovely aunt to her nieces and nephews, as well as her great nieces and nephews. She nurtured them and loved them, and they loved her dearly. Aunt Liz enjoyed talking with each one and was always a big supporter of any good endeavors they tried.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy, her three brothers in law Glen Palmer, Keith Tuttle, and Steve Stroot, her niece, Melissa Allen, and her nephew in law, Brent Alexander.

Elizabeth is survived by her siblings Janice Tuttle of Pleasant Hill, Larry (and Pam) Rosanbalm of Pleasant Hill, JoAnne Stroot of New Baden, Illinois, Nancy (and Mark) Allen of Fort Myers, Florida, and Lyle (and Jill) Rosanbalm of Pleasant Hill; 11 nieces and nephews Glenda Alexander, Mark (and Wendy) Palmer, Lisa (and Michael) Layton, Shane (and Katie) Rosanbalm, Corey (and Sarut) Rosanbalm, Matthew (and Candice) Rosanbalm, Jesse (and Kari) Stroot, Stephanie (and Joshua) Weight, Jeffrey (and Kelly) Stroot, Michelle (and Dan) Ream, and John (and Jodi) Rosanbalm; numerous great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and a celebration of Elizabeth;s life was held, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Pleasant Hill Community of Christ Church.  Elder Wally Carlile and Seventy Becky Carlile officiated. Elizabeth was cremated and inurnment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery on her parent’s gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Community of Christ Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
