Elphy N. Stich, Jr.

July 6, 1959 — November 20, 2025

Harrisonville, Missouri

Elphy Norman Stich Jr. was born July 6, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life on November 20, 2025, in Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 66. He brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

A 1979 graduate of Adrian High School in Adrian, Missouri, Elphy was active in Football and Track & Field, earning multiple medals and awards for his athletic achievements.

As a teenager, he found his passion in speed. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, even boats—if it moved fast, he loved it. He cared for each one meticulously, keeping them shining inside and out. On the outskirts of town, he often raced alongside fellow enthusiasts, chasing the rush of open roads—an activity that drew disapproval from both local authorities and his parents.

Elphy carried the values of hard work and camaraderie into his professional life. After graduating, he followed in the family footsteps by working at Boeing Aircraft Company for a few years. Later in life, he worked at Frontier Bag and Sioux Chief, where he was known for his dedication and spirited personality.

Known affectionately as “Elf,” Elphy had a vibrant presence that left a lasting impression wherever he went. He was funny and outgoing—truly the life of the party. He cherished time spent with friends and family, often bringing people together with his infectious energy and humor.

Elphy enjoyed many hobbies that reflected his competitive and fun-loving spirit. Whether he was bowling a perfect frame, out on the golf course, throwing darts with friends, or playing video games with his son, he approached every activity with enthusiasm and a big smile. He was also an avid fan of professional sports—especially football, baseball, basketball, and racing—and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.

He is lovingly remembered by his father Elphy Stich Sr.; his stepmother Jeanie Stich; his stepfather David Mills; his brother Randy (Becky) Russell; his son Derrick Stich; his girlfriend Nicole Russell and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Mills and his brother Shane Stich.

May the memory of Elphy’s laughter and warmth bring comfort to all who knew him.
