Ermalene M. Bradshaw

Ermalene Muriel Bradshaw, 102, of Pleasant Hill, was born, November 24, 1919, on the family farm near Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Earl Jackson and Edith Carmen (Hoover) Roush.  She departed this life, Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Bristol Manor in Pleasant Hill.

Ermalene was a 1937 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

On June 11, 1938, she was united in marriage to Orlin Clarence Bradshaw in Kansas City.  He preceded her in death on November 16, 1999.

Ermalene was a homemaker and farmwife.  She loved the country and enjoyed living on the family farm where she made her home most of her life. She was baptized (along with her father) on November 11, 1931, at the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church and remained a member there for over 90 years.   She was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Twenty Friends Club, Wingate Club, Card Club, Big Five Club, Garden Club, and served on the Polk Township Democratic committee.  She enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, sewing, reading, and playing cards.  She was especially known and will be long remembered for her fantastic baking skills.

Ermalene was also preceded in death by her sister, Earlene Roush.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Margaret Bradshaw of Harrisonville, and John and Kimberly Bradshaw of Pleasant Hill; five grandchildren, Rebecca (and Ryan) Elledge of Overland Park, Chris (and Sandy) Bradshaw of Harrisonville, Jessica (and Jake) Burch of Pleasant Hill, Angela (and German) Filorio of Pleasant Hill, and Latisha (and Joe) Ortiz of Lee’s Summit; sixteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Per her wishes cremation has been accorded. Private family services and inurnment were in the Strasburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
