MARYVILLE, Mo. a�" Fred R. Poppa, 67, Maryville, passed away June 7, 2012, at Parkdale Manor Care Center after a short battle with cancer.

Fred was born on November 8, 1944 in Maryville, to Mabel Carmichael and Harold H. Poppa Sr., both deceased.

Fred graduated from Maryville High School in 1962.

He was married to Rita Wagner, Maryville, on June 15, 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of the home; two children, Tyler A.(Madonna), Forney, Texas and Lori A. Hibbs (Scott Myer), Maryville; five grandchildren, Sandra Aleman, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nev., Lindsay and Matthew Poppa, Forney, Colton Hibbs, Sheridan, Mo. and Tabitha Hibbs, Maryville; one great-grandson, Iaden Aleman, Las Vegas. One granddaughter, Elizabeth Poppa, preceded Fred in death. Additional survivors are five brothers Harold H. Jr. (Donna), Bertram, Texas, Larry (Jill), Bedford, Iowa, Terry (Sharon), Maryville, Jim (Marlene), St. Joseph and Richard (Mary), Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Price, Maryville and Anna (Jim) Jones, Graham, Mo.; Fred's dog, Bruce, along with numerous friends and relatives.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 12, the First United Methodist Church, Maryville.

The body has been cremated.
