GARRY D. HALE
Garry Dewayne “Paps” Hale, 80, of Climax Springs, Missouri, was born, August 19, 1941, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the son of Everett Wilson and Treva Jewel (Fitzgerald) Hale. He departed this life, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his home surrounded with love and family.
Paps attended Pleasant Hill High School and furthered his career at the Devry Institute of Technology in Kansas City.
On July 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Judy Ann Smith in Kansas City, Missouri.
Paps was a gifted interior designer and trim carpenter owning and operating Garry Hale Wall Coverings and Garry Hale Homebuilders. Early in his career he was a supervisor for Harmon Electronics in Grain Valley. After moving to the lake, he and Judy were realtors for 25 years with Reece Nichols of the Lake. He was a member of the Painters & Allied Trades Construction Union Local #3, the Kansas City Homebuilders Association, the Lake of the Ozarks Real Estate Board, and the Kansas City Antique Radio Club. He loved to restore antique cars and radios, fishing and reading science fiction books. He most enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake.
Paps was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela Lynette Hale; and one sister, Joyce E. Brooks.
He is survived by his wife Judy of the home; three children, Sheri (and Bill) Orrick of Blue Springs, Missouri, Cindy (and David) Diaz of Independence, Missouri, and Steve (and Debbie) Hale of Pleasant Hill; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Christine McMurphy of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Fellowship Church. Reverend Wyatt Shanks officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
