George W. Baldwin

George Wayne Baldwin, 75, of Pleasant Hill, was born August 30, 1948, in Fayette, Missouri, the son of George Merle and Mary Francis Childers. He departed this life Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home.

George was a 1966 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.  

On March 3, 1967, he was united in marriage to Judy Lynn Romesburg in Pleasant Hill. They enjoyed over 57 years of marriage.

George was first employed at the Pleasant Hill Veneer Plant.  He later went to work for the Stone Container Company in Blue Springs where he was a member of the Machinist Union.  He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, and horseshoes.

George was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Donna Haak, Martha Lowry, Barbara Baldwin, Marilyn Kampheffner, and Patty Orr.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Judy Baldwin of Pleasant Hill; his son and daughter-in-law John and Amy Baldwin of Pleasant Hill; two grandsons, Keyton (and Amanda) Baldwin of Pleasant Hill and Keagan Baldwin of Lee’s Summit; one great grandchild, Piper Baldwin; other relatives and friends.

Per Georges wishes cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay-Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
