Harold Parker

Harold Paul Parker, 68, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, went to be with his Savior, Jesus, at 9:38 a.m. on Thursday January 20, 2011, at the Lee's Summit Hospital.

He was born November 11, 1942 in Green Forest, Arkansas the son of John Paul and Jaunita Parker. Harold graduated from Lee's Summit High School and earned multiple degrees from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri. Following his love of design and construction he decided to major in Vocational education. He began his teaching career at Lee's Summit High School, as well as holding various adjunct faculty positions at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, Johnson County Community College, the Metropolitan Community Colleges, and the Missouri Builders Association.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Harold is survived by his loving wife and help-mate of 49 years, Sharron Parker, son Greg Parker, daughter Sharrena Um, and son-in-law Virak Um, two granddaughters, his mother, and sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Abundant Life Baptist Church,in Lee's Summit. Reverend Rick Friesen minister of the church officiated. Music was rendered by Mrs. Beth Azure and Pastor Brian Opperman.

Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Kevin Bennett, John Heller, Andy Oldham, Rick Rogers, Brian Rookstool, and Warren Vance. Honorary casket bearers were Don Carney, Danny Jipsen, Frank Parker, and Jack Parker.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Missions Ministry of Abundant Life Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
