Infant Corban Hunter Shelton

Infant Corban Hunter Shelton, 2-month-old son of Andrew Lennon and Alyssa Marie (Bates) Shelton, was born March 11, 2026, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. He departed this life Friday, May 22, 2026, at Children's Mercy.

Corban was born with Hypo-Plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome (SLOS). He wasn’t expected to survive even pregnancy, but he fought and battled every day, through every circumstance, with an incredible will to live and proved everyone wrong. Through every procedure performed and with little chance of survival, he pushed through to allow more time with his family.

Corban is survived by his parents, Andrew and Alyssa of Greenwood; one half-sister, Monroe Shelton; paternal grandparents, Keith (and Cynthia) Shelton of Greenwood and Nikki (and Derek) McBride of Florida; maternal grandparents, Marc and Melissa Bates of Grandview; paternal great grandparents, Roger & Cheryl Shelton of Grandview and Verlene (and Neil) Brandes of Belton; paternal step grandmother, Evelyn Noel of Lee’ s Summit; maternal great grandparents, Chuck (and Chris) Wood of San Jose California and Betty Wood of Kansas City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Robert “Bob” Noel and maternal great grandfather, Len Bates.

Cremation has been accorded.
