Jackson Lee “Jack” Collins, 9-year-old son of Tyler Cole and Shanda Lynnette (Bahner) Collins, was born on December 21, 2016, at the St. Lukes Hospital in Lee’s Summit. He departed this life Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home in Archie surrounded with love and family, after a ten-month battle with cancer.

Jack was currently a student of the third grade at Archie school. He and the family attended the Adrian Christian Church.

Jack was All-Boy! He enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was a cattleman at heart who loved working cattle and around the farm. He also loved being outdoors where he lived to hunt, fish, and could never resist a jump into a good mud puddle. He was a little ornery at times but had a compassionate heart for others.

Jack is survived by his parents, Tyler and Shanda and his sister, Krista Raelynn Collins of Archie; paternal grandparents Dan (and Sherry) Collins of Pleasant Hill and Danyelle Long of Holden; maternal grandfather, Jere (and Leslie) Bahner of Lake Lotawana; paternal great grandmother, Sandra Collins of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and a host of many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather Howard Collins and maternal grandmother Heather (and Roger) Howell.

Visitation was held Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Archie High School.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the school.  Mr. Seth Reynolds officiated. Interment was in the Staley Mound Cemetery near Pleasant Hill Mr. Russell Billington officiated. Casket bearers were Joe Andre, Kyle DeWeese, Conner Jacques, Seth Reynolds, Andrew Stiegler, and Gabriel Torres. Honorary casket bearers were Zach Bahner, Travis Franklin, Josh Hill, Kixson Reynolds, and Kort Reynolds.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Fight Like Jack (make check payable to Tyler or Shanda), Owens Battle Buddies, or Stick’in It to Cancer. Memorial contribution may be left at the services or sent in care of the funeral home.
