James Lee Crosby, 89, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, formerly of Apache Junction, Arizona, was born July 20, 1932, in Ogden, Kansas. He departed this life Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Jim was a United States Marine Corps veteran earning a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the Korean War. 

On March 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Katherine (Scherrer) in Vancouver, Washington; they later divorced.  On January 6, 2006, he was united in marriage to Betty B. Wilch in Apache Junction; she survives.

Jim was employed as a Truck Driver for the 7-Eleven Convenience Store Company in the Apache Junction area.  He was a member of the Apache Junction Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7968.  He enjoyed a good game of Blackjack and a spirited drink.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Pearl Dean Crosby; his mother, Ethel Mae (Akers) Fowler and his stepfather, Robert Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Lee’s Summit; one son, James L. (and Tammy) Crosby of Syracuse, Utah; one daughter, Linda Crosby; one step-daughter, Nancy (and Larry) Hancock of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren, Michael D. (and Aubry) Crosby, Marc E. (and Suzie) Crosby, Peter J. (and Amanda) Crosby, and Autumn D. Crosby; two step grandchildren, Jill (and John) Fewling  and Lisa (and Don) Brady; nine great grandchildren, Michael, Xela, Nathan, Jacob, Xander, Nicole, Abigail, Madelaine, and Elizabeth; seven step-great grandchildren, Bethany, Bailey, Ben, Brooke, Macy, Jacob, and Charlie; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled.
