Jean Taylor

Jean Taylor, 85, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born June 25, 1940, in Schenectady, New York, the daughter of Angelo J. and Madaline (Cropsy) Lombardi. She departed this life Saturday, February 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by love and family.

Jean was a 1958 graduate of the Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady.

On June 7, 1980, she was united in marriage to Gerald L. Taylor in Pleasant Hill. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1987.

Jean owned and operated The Occasion Restaurant in Pleasant Hill from 1982 to 1998. She was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill. She enjoyed many years of working the restaurant, flower gardening and working in her yard; but above all she loved taking care of her family.

Jean was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Denine Battaglia.

She is survived by three children, Jeannine Battaglia of Pleasant Hill, Dean (and Christa) Battaglia of Greenwood, and Troy (and Heather) Thackeray of Pleasant Hill; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four siblings, Stephanie Brynarski, Phyllis Hovarth, Cecelia Guerra, and Angelo Lombardi; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2025, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reverend Curt Vogel will officiate.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's or the St. Luke's Heart Institute and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
