Jenyfer L. Simmerman

Jenyfer Lida Simmerman, 64, of Clinton, was born January 11, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Ronald Dee and Andrea Moira (Van Sijen) Phillips. She departed this life Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Jenyfer was a 1980 graduate of William Chrisman High School in Kansas City and furthered her education at Park University.

On May 31, 1984 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Floyd Collins III in Independence, and to this union three daughters, Brianne, Savannah, and Courtney were born; he preceded her in death on March 4, 1999. On December 15, 2002, she was united in marriage to Bradley Eugene Simmerman in Clinton, and to this union one daughter, Shanyn was born. Brad brought with him one son, William “Bill” Simmerman; Bill preceded her in death on November 28, 2007.

Jenyfer held a variety of positions throughout the years, most notably holding roles which were designed to help others. These positions ranged from being a customer service representative for A.T.& T, to then taking over her father’s home-based business, Action Fireplace. Later at Walmart in Harrisonville and Clinton. She finished her working career with Compass Health where she faithfully worked for many years and through many roles which directly and positively impacted the lives of countless individuals. She held a deep love and faith in God. It was this same relationship with God which taught her how to love those she cared for. Jenyfer loved and adored her family and life in general, her care and empathy knew no bounds. She loved and adored her husband, children and grandchildren, in a way words could not express yet she could often be heard saying to herself just how much she loves them. Jenyfer was a creative person in many ways, some of her most enjoyed crafts included: music, leathercrafting, and photography. She was also an avid reader and loved to write. She loved being out in nature, especially if there were minimal bugs biting, and in more recent years she developed a love for kayaking.

Jenyfer is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Brad of Clinton; four daughters, Jenyfer Brianne (and Jeremy) Taylor of Lone Jack, Savannah Leigh Collins of Warrensburg, and Courtney Melissa Collins of Citrus Heights, California, Shanyn Nichole Simmerman of Higginsville; six grandchildren, Theodore Taylor, Thane Taylor, Thatcher Taylor, Thaddeus Taylor, Paylah Collins, and Annalise Mills; stepmother, Anne Phillips of Kansas City, KS town; eight siblings, Kathryn Hernandez, Ron Phillips, Mitchell Phillips, Nancy Wallace, Jon Phillips, Daniel Chapman, Julie Lawson, and Sarah Phillips; and a plethora of other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial visitation will be held 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the funeral home.

Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

A wake be held immediately after the graveside service at the Pleasant Hill Big Creek Baptist Church.
