Jerry A. Dinges

Jerry Arlene Dinges, 80, of Climax Springs, formerly of Olathe, was born August 28, 1942, in Kanas City, Missouri, the daughter of Alfredo C. and Lorraine H. (Morehouse) Smith.  She departed this life, Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Olathe Medical Center surrounded with love and family.

Jerry was a 1961Pleasant Hill High school graduate.

On February 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gerald L. “Jake” Dinges in Pleasant Hill.  He preceded her in death on February 4, 2015.

Jerry worked for the City of Olathe from 1978 to 2004.  She enjoyed playing shuffleboard, bunco, dominoes, fishing and boating, and going to the casinos.  She especially enjoyed time spent with her family and friends at the Red Fox Bar & Grill near Climax Springs.

Jerry was also preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Faith Selley; and her brother, Glenn Smith.

She is survived by her three children, Jerry (and Debbie) Dinges of Gardner, Kathy (and Bill) Selley of Creighton, and Tricia (and Tim) Ebeling of Gardner; twelve grandchildren, Kim (and Heath) Good, Brian (and Andrea) Rice, Danielle (and Chris) Maley, Jason (and Kara) Selley, Thea Selley, Ashley (and Joel) Kracht, Erin (and Trent) Stanley, Brittany Rees, Cody Selley, Marissa (and Nathan) Scott, Ryan Ebeling, and Rachel Ebeling; thirteen great grandchildren; her sister, Judy Hale of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life visitation was held Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the funeral home.

Graveside services were in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Steve Hale officiated.
