John Crawford

David Michael Crawford, 58, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, was born Saturday, October 25, 1952, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of Enos V. and Dorothy E. (Harrer) Crawford. He departed this life Thursday, February 24, 2011 at his home.

David spent his childhood living in Kansas. Upon graduation from Jefferson County High School in Nortonville, Kansas. He attended college in Rolla Missouri at the Rolla School of Mines. He graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

After completing college he received an appointment as a Reserve Officer of the Air Force and was stationed in Omaha, Nebraska. David retired from the Air Force and went on to receive a Master in Electrical Engineering in 1980 from the University of Missouri.

David spent the last 17 years working for General Dynamics in Michigan.

He is survived by his sister Kathryn Crawford of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two aunts Edith Harrer and Pauline Ashcroft both of Pleasant Hill; three cousins Diane (Harrer) Robinson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Charles Ashcroft of Wichita, Kansas, and Norman Ashcroft of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside memorial and military services were held on Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
