Joseph Lee Williamson, 67, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born July 30, 1955, in South Charleston, West Virginia. He departed this life Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his home surrounded with love and family.
Joseph was a 1973 graduate of the Nitro High School in Nitro, West Virginia. He furthered his education at the Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.
On August 11, 1979, he was united in marriage to Diane Lynn Bowlin in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
Joseph was the founding pastor of the Grace Covenant Fellowship in Dunbar, West Virginia; later serving as the pastor of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Kingsville, Missouri. He also was employed as a truck driver for several area companies. He was an avid reader, especially of the bible. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur James Williamson, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Pleasant Hill; three children, Jannie Williamson (and fiancé Wayne Griffin), Jake (and Melissa) Williamson, Jordan (and Jennifer) Williamson, all of Pleasant Hill; ten grandchildren, Anna Morrison, Parker Morrison, Emily Morrison, Brayden Mahany, Peyton Mahany, Seth Williamson, Paige Ruckdeschel, Brendan Ruckdeschel, Jordan Ruckdeschel, and Zoey Williamson; his mother, Emma Williamson of Cross Lanes; two sisters, Susan Quick of Tennessee and Linda Williamson of Cross Lanes; one brother, Art Williamson III; One Nephew Daniel Combs of Cross Lanes, West Virginia; other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Visitation and a celebration of his Joseph's life was held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the funeral home. Reverend Alan Koch officiated.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
