Joshua Allen Griffith, 36, of Fulton, Missouri, formerly of Odessa, was born, July 14, 1979, in Lee's Summit, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Allen Griffith, Jr. and Cathy Gaye (Greer) Griffith. He departed this life, Tuesday, April 29, 2016, at his home.
Joshua attended Odessa schools until the 8th grade; transferring to the Kansas City School for the Blind in high school. He later earned his associates degree from the KC Technical School and his bachelors from Devry.
On June 20, 2007, he was united in marriage to Jonya Louise Horton in Fulton.
Joshua was employed by the State of Missouri as a computer programmer. He enjoyed playing the piano and the saxophone and woodworking. He was an avid KC Chiefs fan. He was a member of the Capital Christian Church in Jefferson City.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Greer and Uncle, Andy Greer.
He is survived by his wife Jonya; one son, Dillion Griffith of Higginsville; his father, Lawrence Griffith Jr. of Odessa; his mother Cathy Griffith of Higginsville; one brother Joseph Griffith, Buffalo, New York; two sisters, Angela (and Jason) Scarbourough of Odessa, and Christina Griffith of Harriet, England; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Margaret Griffith, of Raymore, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Mary Greer of Higginsville; other relatives; and a host of many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the KC School for the blind and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
