Kevin Michael Zaner, 53, of Raytown, was born September 26, 1963, in Kansas City, the son of Dan and Susan (Hutto) Zaner. He departed this life Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at his home.
Kevin was a 1981 Raytown South High School graduate. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from DeVry University.
He was employed at CNTRIQ University as a technical Instructor for many years He was an avid golfer and was currently working for the Heart of America Golf Course. He also enjoyed reading and watching the Royals and Chiefs. He had been active in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout and a warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
He is survived by his parents Dan and Susan Zaner, of Pleasant Hill; 2 daughters Emily Zaner of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Sophia Zaner, of Corpus Christi, Texas; siblings John (and Julie) Zaner of Boerne, Texas, Julie (and Dennis) Bird of Kansas City, and Laura Zaner of Raytown; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held 8:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at the St. Bridget Catholic church, Pleasant Hill, where visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. at the church. Monsignor Robert Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Casket bearers are Dennis Bird, Chris Duncan, Tim Duncan, Greg Grattan, Tom Grattan, Mike Stockman, and Steve Stockman.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contribution in Kevin’s name be made to Catholic Charities or St. Bridget Parish.
