Lawrence D. Moberly

Lawrence D. “Larry” Moberly, 79, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, was born, April 27, 1942, in Grundy County, Missouri, the son of Donald M. and Mary H. (Crain) Moberly.  He departed this life, Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home.

Larry was a 1960 graduate of Galt High School.  Following high school, he moved to Kansas City, returning to Grundy County to marry Sharon K. Urton on June 23, 1963. They made their home in Kansas City, where he worked as a driver’s examiner then served for a short time in the United States Air Force.  He worked at TWA and Missouri Public Service, later earning a degree in electronics from the Electronics Institute of Kansas City.

Larry was an electronics technician for many years.  Early in his career, he worked with the Muzak Music Service. Later he was the owner/operator of L.D.’s Electronic Repair until his retirement in 2007.  He was a former member of Communications Workers of America.  He enjoyed stock car racing, country music dancing, and tinkering with cars, small engines, and electronics.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Andrew Jacob “A.J.” Dümmer.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; his daughters, Rebecca Moberly (and Dan Trent) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brenda (and Scott) Dümmer of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren, Brenda (and Matthew) Collins of Stafford, Virginia, Brian Trent of Austin, Texas, Brandon (and Katelyn) Trent of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Carson Dümmer and Katie Dümmer both of Pleasant Hill, Megan Trent and Mason Trent, both of Kansas City; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Connor, Caleb, and Ryan; one sister Carolyn; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A gathering of friends and family was held Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the Heartland Church of Christ, Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial service followed with Dr. Dan Trent as speaker, and an inurnment at the Line Creek Cemetery afterward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Line Creek Cemetery sent in care of the Stanley-Edenburn Funeral Home.
