Lena C. Crotty

Lena Christine Crotty, 66, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born December 10, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Charles R. and Viola R. (Johnson) Waggoner. She departed this life Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home.

Lena was a 1976 graduate of Smokey Hills High School in Denver.

On March 19, 1979, she was united in marriage to Walter E. “Butch” Crotty in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Lena was a homemaker. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and spending time on their land in Arkansas. She was a gifted gardener, planting a large garden every year, and will long be remembered for the tomato plants she grew. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lena was preceded in death by her father Charlie Waggoner.

She is survived by her husband, Butch of Pleasant Hill; two sons, Derek (and Courtney) Crotty of Raytown, and Kyle Crotty of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren, Parker Crotty, Carter Crotty, Hunter Crotty, and Lilly Crotty; her mother, Vi Waggoner of Pleasant Hill; her sister, Karen (and Tim) McCoy of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Garrett Lahey will officiate. Cremation is to be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to her grandchildren’s education fund which has been set up at the Goppert Financial Bank. Contributions may also be sent in care of the funeral home.
