Lillian Lou Smith, 75, of Pleasant Hill, was born, August 26, 1943, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Robert C. and Cynthia A. (Aldridge) Kelly. She departed this life, Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at her home surrounded with love and family.
On June 25, 1962, she was united in marriage to Dale Allen Smith in Pleasant Hill.
Lillian was gifted in working all aspects of food service and was employed in the cafeteria at the I.R.S. building, Kansas City retiring in 2003. She enjoyed watching dirt track racing, John Wayne movies and wrestling. When she was younger she had also enjoyed dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale; one brother, Alex Kelly; and one sister, Rosemary Chase.
She is survived by 1 son, Allen Dale Smith; 2 daughters, Mary Ann (and Harvey) Cumpton of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and Linda Ann Johnson of Bates City; 8 grandchildren, Kim (and James) Dexter, Overland Park, Crystal (and Keith) Pankey of Bates City, Jennifer (and Scott) Duncan of Vernadean, Florida, Anthony Johnson of Warrensburg, Joshua Venovich of Nevada, Steve Smith of Nevada, Alicia Smith of Springfield, and Robbie (and Erin) Bedford of Pleasant Hill; 14 great grandchildren, Lauren, Austin, Jake, Garrett, Junior, Dillon, Haley, Jared, Brandon, Dalton, Addison, Lilly, Desirae, and Lilly; 3 brothers, Billy Joe Kelly of Arkansas, Sam Kelly of Kansas City, and Andy Kelley of Belton; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, July 1, 2019, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robbie Bedford, Andy Kelly, Junior Pankey, John Pelcher, Steve Smith, and Josh Venovich.
