Lloyd Douglas Ash, 64, of Raymore, was born February 2, 1961, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Melford and Wilma (Retherford) Ash. He departed this life Friday, May 9, 2025, at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, surrounded with love and family.
Lloyd was a 1980 Ray-Pec High school graduate.
Lloyd was first employed as Machine Operator for Armor Packing and later Mission Plastics both in Martin City. He then became a Ranch Hand working on an area farm. When he was younger, he was a member of the Boy Scouts. He was an active member of the Grandview Church of Christ where he started attending at age of five. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing and hunting quail, deer, and turkey.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Melford Ash and one grandson, Jeremiah Verhelle.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma Ash of Raymore; two children, Derek Ash of Raymore and Jessica Ash of Grandview; one granddaughter, LeAnna Verhelle; three sisters, LaDonna (and Randy) Garrison of Pleasant Hill, LaVonna (and Gene) Malott of Blue Springs, and LaRonda (and Kevin) Catanzaro of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; other relative and friends.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Cable Ridge Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate. Casket bearers are Derek Ash, Atean Catanzaro, Chayton Catanzaro, Tony Findley, Adam Garrison, and Matthew Garrison. Honorary casket bearer is Brent Mitchell.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
