Louise Hamilton

Myrtle Louise Hamilton, 96, of Pleasant Hill, was born Monday, July 26, 1915 in Duenweg, Missouri, the daughter of George and Esther (Greninger) Clark. She departed this life at 5:22 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.

On July 5, 1936, Louise was united in marriage to Chester Monroe Hamilton in Harrisonville, Missouri. They enjoyed over 75 years of marriage.

Louise was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118, Pleasant Hill.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Bill and Junior; and five sisters Opal, Agnes, Francis, Dorothy, and her twin sister Lois.

She is survived by her husband Chester of Pleasant Hill; one son Gene Hamilton and his wife Vickie of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren Carrie Sturmer of Pleasant Hill and Angela Lackershire of Independence; two great grandchildren Tina Myers of Independence and Mark McConville of Independence; one great-great grandchild Akiya Myers; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 20, 2011, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
