MARLENE E. EAGER

Marlene Elizabeth Eager, 70, of Lone Jack, was born August 19, 1950, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Thaddeus Anthony and Beulah Nadine (McCrery) McMahon.  She departed this life, Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Seasons Memory Care in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

On November 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to Marvin Faye Wyzard; they later divorced.  On August 19, 1994, she was united in marriage to William Elwood Eager in Kansas City; he survives.

Marlene was a 1969 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. After retiring from Western Electric/AT&T, she furthered her education at the Graceland School of Nursing, graduating in 1998.

Marlene worked for Western Electric from September 1969 to February 1987.  After leaving AT&T, and while attending nursing school, she worked for Sequentia in Grandview.  After earning her degree, she worked as a Registered Nurse in several area nursing homes, including Indian Creek in Overland Park and St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs.  She was a member of Rock Brook Church in Belton.  She enjoyed baking, crafting, planning events for her family, and was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren.  She was eager to help others, babysit, and have the kids over whenever she could.  Marlene also enjoyed taking road trips to Branson with her husband, Bill.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her four brothers, Michael McMahon, Jeffrey McMahon, Thomas McMahon, and Stephen McMahon; Son-in-law, Darin A. Willoughby (Shauna’s husband)

She is survived by her husband, Bill Eager of Lone Jack; one son, Stacey M. (and Julie) Wyzard of Cleveland, Missouri; one daughter, Shauna D. Willoughby of Independence; two stepsons, Todd (and Donna) Eager of Independence, and Troy (and Anna) Eager of Buckner; one stepdaughter, Tammy (and Scott) Gail of Lee’s Summit; eleven grandchildren, Tucker Wyzard, Christian Wyzard, Trinity Wyzard, Collin Wyzard, Joshua Willoughby, Karissa Willoughby,  Erin Warner, Blake Eager, Quentin Eager, Alexis Eager, and Makayla Gail; one brother, Phillip (and Roberta) McMahon of Grandview; one sister, Victoria Lewis of Belton; several cousins, nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, 2021, at Rock Brook Church in Belton, Missouri.  Pastor Will Challacombe officiated.

Cremation was accorded following the service.  Inurnment will be in in the Strasburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
