Independence, Missouri

Marvin F. Wyzard, 75, of Independence, was born August 13, 1949, in East Prairie, Missouri at his home, the son of Roy Everett and Lucie Irene (Dooling) Wyzard. He departed this life Thursday, August 22, 2024, peacefully at his home.

Marvin grew up in East Prairie and attended Lee’s Summit High School.

On November 18, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marlene (McMahon) Eager and from this union his two children, Stacy Michael and Shauna Dyonne were born. They later divorced. 

Marvin was first employed as a Produce Manager for several area grocery stores. He later went to work for Unilever in product manufacturing for over twenty years until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, collecting M&M memorabilia, and watching tv (especially Anger Management and Two and a Half Men). He was also an avid Chiefs Fan, who held season tickets for many years before passing them on to his son, Stacy, to carry on the tradition. 

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ralph Everett Wyzard, Lonnie E. “Gene” Wyzard, Louis Wyzard, and Melvin Wyzard; his son, Stacy Wyzard; his partner in life, Kathy Hemerson, and son-in-law, Darin Willoughby.

He is survived by his daughter, Shauna Willoughby of Independence; daughter-in-law, Julie Wyzard of Cleveland; grandchildren, Karissa (and Kaylee) Willoughby of Independence; Tucker, Trinity, Collin, and Christian (and Kyndal) Wyzard all of Cleveland; son-in-law, Jeff (and Jackie) Saunders of Franklinville; other relatives and friends. 

Visitation and a Celebration of Marvin's life was held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the funeral home. 

A Celebration of Life dinner was held following the service at the El Puerto Mexican Restaurant in Pleasant Hill. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Stroke Association, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, or the KC Pet Project, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
