Mary Arlene Baum, 84, of Kingsville, Missouri, was born November 8, 1939, in Ventura, California, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Stark) Goins. She departed this life Monday, April 15, 2024, at Saint Lukes East Hospital in Lee’s Summit.
Mary’s family were migrant farmers in the San Joaquin Valley of Southern California. She attended school in Santa Monica.
On February 16, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jacob Henry Baum in Culver City, California.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Lee’s Summit Congregation on Milton-Thompson Rd. and the Ely Shoshone Indian Tribe of California. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, quilting, and crafting. She was also a gifted artist. She was especially fond of spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Patricia Frey, Roy Goins, Gary Goins, Norma Cook, and Linda Warner.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob of Kingsville; three children, Tonya Baum of Lee’s Summit, Kenneth Baum of San Clemente, California, and Rhonda (and Lonnie) Ellinger of Kingsville; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Brice, Chad, Brandon, Ethan, and Danielle; fifteen great grandchildren; one half-brother, Larry Warner of Hemet, California; other relatives and friends.
Mary was loved by everyone who knew her and was the rock of their family and the best mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law any family could ask for.
Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service was held Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
